A fine quality old German cello bow. This bow was made in Markneukirchen in the 1920ies, one of the best periods of Markneukirchren bow making. The strong octagonal stick is made of fine dark red/brown pernambuco wood. The fine ebony frog is nickel mounted with white pearl eye, a typical white pearl slide and nicely patinated old metal mounts. The elegant head is especially nicely finished. The bow is in excellent undamaged condition. The bow has been restored with new Mongolian hair, silver winding and leather by a professional bow maker. The bow has its balance point in the lower third towards the middle. The weight is 84.2 g, the length is 71.3 cm.
